Video Reflection 3: Who Killed the Electric Car?

I watched the "Who Killed the Electric car?" video. It is surprising me that the fact electric cars have been existed for a long time ago. I always thought that electric cars were actually a new technology to help to reduce gas emission produced by gas car. In the video stated that after the high popularity of the electric car in the1960. The fuel energy car came out with many advantages compared to electric car. I’m convinced that people doesn’t really care about the environment where they live in but more to the stuffs that they use. It needs time to change people lifestyle. If we were given the knowledge about the environmental impact, people will definitely more careful to what they are doing because it will affect the environment. I believe there must be a reason why electric car was designed at that time and I think the reason why electric car was not popular anymore after the release of the fuel energy car was because not many people was aware with the effect of petrol cars to the environment at that time beside of the quality of the fuel energy car.
“Who killed the electric car?” - The growth of fuel energy cars killed the electric car. It can be seen that these days almost every households have their own car and we are hardly see electric car around because I think people rely on nature resources so much. Although electric car is a lot more environmental friendly, like they are less polluting, quiet, smooth and charged in the house, most of fuel-based cars have better appearance design where people attracted to choose and also the price of petrol.  The solution to bring back electric car is giving knowledge to the people about the advantages or effect of petrol car to the environment. Designers should get involved to this, designing a better appearance and quality of the environmental friendly car. It might help people to use more sustainable friendly product.
